Integrated Massage Therapy services are
covered by most health insurance plans!

Massage therapy isn't just for relaxation anymore.
Did you know massage is a proven, safe and effective
way to reduce pain, rehabilitate injuries, improve athletic
performance, and alleviate the effects of chronic stress?

Will my health insurance cover my orthopedic massage treatment?
Most people do not realize that they have health insurance coverage
for many services offered by our orthopedic massage therapists.

Steps to receive authorization for medical massage treatment:
If you are injured at work and need treatment, go to the emergency room or doctor of your choice and say you were injured at work. The doctor will file the workers' compensation claim for you. If your claim is approved, L&I or your self-insured employer will cover medical bills directly related to your injury. This coverage may continue until your doctor certifies your injury has stabilized and reached a point where further recovery is not expected.

If you are injured on the job let your employer know right away. Employers need to know about injuries and be familiar with the situation when the L&I paperwork arrives so that they can help you plan your return to work.

Workers Compensation Coverage or L&I Insurance
If you are injured at work or develop an occupational disease and your claim is accepted, workers' compensation (L&I or your self-insured employer) pays for medical care directly related to your accident or illness.

If your employer is self-insured, your rights and benefit entitlement don't change, but who manages your claim and the process is different. Your employer, not L&I, handles your paperwork and pays for the claim.
If you have experienced a work-related injury and you want to be treated by massage therapist, please do the following to receive authorization so that Workers' Compensation will cover your treatment costs:

1 - Contact the medical doctor to get the prescription/referral of medical necessity massage. Discuss your treatment plan with your Doctor. The prescription/referral informs the Therapist what to focus on in the massage session.

2 - Contact the claims adjuster of L&I to inform about injury and the doctor prescription/referral for orthopedic massage.

3 - Present the prescription/referral to your massage therapist at your first visit. Our staff will get authorization from L&I insurance for massage therapy as a part of your treatment plan.

4 - Once we receive the necessary authorization from your workers' compensation insurance, we will contact you to schedule your massage appointments.
